3 Premium Services you Should be Subscribed to

With the current lack of things to talk about, for the sake of keeping this ship afloat I had to think of something. And yes, as you can probably tell by the title, we're going full clickbait. Don't worry, I actually intend on talking about 3 premium services that are pretty good -- but just know that if your anything like me these are pretty obvious so don't waste your time if you think you know what they are.

1. Amazon Prime

What if I told you that there was a place on the internet where you could buy practically anything you wanted? Pretty crazy, right?

Well, what if I told you that in that place, you could get free shipping on all items, as well as a large category of music, movies, and books? What, it's impossible? No, it's Prime.

Well, at least that's how Amazon is spinning it. To be honest, it's actually very unclear what the exact capabilities and limits are for the premium system. However, the shipping in itself most see as well worth the monthly price. However, with such a massive inventory on their hands, there is plenty that Amazon can do with Prime -- and plenty that they have done already.

2. Spotify Premium

Spotify's library of practically every song on in the universe minus soundtracks and the Beatles is pretty impressive. Too bad you can't freely enjoy it on all devices.

Wait, you can? Oh, I guess you can.

Yup -- Spotify Premium allows greater audio quality, the playing of any song on mobile, no ads, and unlimited skips; these features combined make it so that Spotify's library is practically like your own. For fans of music, this is a must-have.

3. Playstation Plus

Have a PS4, PS3, or PS Vita? If you do, you probably already are fairly familiar with PS+ -- but in case you aren't, PS+ is Playstation's own reward system, that gives players 2 free games per system every month. The quality of the games significantly went down in 2014, however its looking at a recent rise in quality -- with Duck Tales Remastered and Prototype 2 being among the month's games when this was made.

It's time for MADDEN! (gifs)

Madden has a new viral marketing technique this year. Did they need one? Probably not, but needless to say it makes some pretty sweet-ass gifs.

I'm not dead!

Those of you who care enough may notice I haven't been posting here recently. Contrary to popular belief, it is NOT because I'm dead in some ditch. Let me list to you the things I've had to do last week:

  • 6 quizzes
  • 2 tests
  • a wedding
  • a friend's concert
  • a 25 hour gaming marathon
So yeah, I've been a little bit busier than normal. Assuming things don't go back to being this way though and your daily dose of Geimatsu Legend should come back to fruition.

Happy 1k Views!

Close enough.

Today is the day we celebrate 1k views for this blog! This may be like a small feat to most, but this in reality is pretty damn big mostly because this website has NEVER BEEN ADVERTISED. That's right -- if you got here, it sure as hell wasn't me.

Not only is that true, but we're also catching up on the blog that I DID advertise from about two years ago that has only five posts.

Hype is through the roof.
And NOT ONLY THAT, but it's also technically a fifty-post celebration -- the longest I've gone on any blog ever. Mother of the lord, today is the day of achievement.

But enough of that, time to get to the "special edition" I was planning out for you guys!

Overall website stats:

Average per month (2 months so far!): 509.5
Most viewed day: October 12th, 2013 with 56 pageviews (that was the day we posted the "Quest to the Master Race" special)
Page views, all-time count at 10/21/13 @ 5:40 PM: 1,019 views

Where in the world did you come from?

Greatest refering sites:
1. VampireStat.com (205 views)
2. 7SecretSearch.com (31)
3. Kallery.net (28)
4. AdSenseWatchDog.com (26)
5. Google.com (25)

So basically a bunch of bot-spam/blog sites. Not bad.

Search keywords:
1. astukagaming.blogspot.com (20 views). Huh.
2. michael townley real life (2)
3. meeting god you were on your way ... (1). So someone literally just copied and pasted the entire story to see what would come up.

The Audience

Most of you are from...
1. United States (946 views)
2. South Korea (28) YEAHHHHHH
3. Russia (11)
4. Germany (5)
5. United Kingdom (5)

I'm just glad South Korea's in the top 2. I love you too, Korea.

Using the browser...
1. Chrome (640 views, 64% of all browsers), so basically me.
2. Firefox (178, 17%)
3. Internet Explorer (129, 12%)

As well as some other unorthodox browsers, such as UniversalFeedParser , OS;FBSV (whatever the fuck that means), and NX. Sad to see Netscape is apparently not making a comeback, but oh well.

And the operating system...
1. Windows (508 views, 50% of all OSs)
2. Linux (395, 39%)
3. MacIntosh (70, 6%)

The simple fact that Linux beat Mac by that much just makes me feel all warm inside.

And, finally...

THE TOP 10 MOST VIEWED POSTS

1. "Meeting God" by Anonymous (14 views). The only one I copied takes 1st place. Of course.
2. The beginning of a hypothetical legend (Introductory post) (12 views)
3. Meet the GTA V characters... in real life (11 views)
4. Grand Theft Auto V Review (10 views)
5. The Quest to the Master Race special (9 views)
6. Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning Review (8 views)
7. Important Links (8 views)
8. gotta go fast (7 views). I don't even remember what the fuck this was.
9. TIL & is called an ampersand (7 views)
10. 5 browser games you can play right now (7 views)

And the most viewed by "series" were
TIL - 30 total views
Reviews - 29 total views
Nothing to Post 2013 - 25 total views
Gaming News - 22 total views
Geimastu Legend - 9 total views

At least now I know what to make more of in the future!

Well, there you have it folks. Oh yeah, also with my terrible digital art-making skill (which you all now know about) I made you this:

Beautiful. Truly beautiful.

Reviews incoming

This is me, promising more reviews for the vidya are coming soon. However, since they're work in progress, I can't actually post them (unless I want to be like IGN) and since I have nothing else to post, well, here we are.

In the mean time, enjoy these new screenshots from The Witness, the upcoming game made by Braid creator Jonathan Blow:

The Quest to the Master Race, or how I probably got a virus from trying to get Pokemon X

Alright, let me start off by saying that the only reason I'm cataloging this is so A) I actually post something today and B) So people know why I'm not going to be posting for the next few months

As you all know, Pokemon X & Y just came out recently. Everyone I know is talking about it, mostly because everyone I know is a "m-muh pokemons" fag, but I digress.

Anyway, I wanted to try my luck to see if there happened to be a 3DS emulator that I could use to play the game. Sure enough, googling "3DS emulator" comes with this result.

This is bound to be legit, right guys? Guys?
So I watched the video, and it led me to an extremely sketchy blogspot website, like one you go to to get free WoW characters. As it turns out, it was exactly like that.

First of all, the download link was blocked by this thing that made you either tweet about it, like it, or + it. I went with Twitter because it was the only one that you were able to delete everything and post something completely off the topic, so instead of "LEL I GOT POKEMANZ FOR FREE [link]" it ended up just being "poop".

After tweeting "about" it, it led me to a survey page.

Most of my luck with these stupid fucking surveys have just been "hueheuheu you are trapped in an eternal survey!!!!" that never ends and in the end you don't even get to download the virus in the first place. However, that day for whatever fucking reason I was so determined to get Pokemon X I got my hands dirty.

The first one said "WIN A FREE IPHONE 5", so I just told myself "might as well" and clicked it. This led me to perhaps the worst fucking survey page imaginable -- about fifty iphone 5's made in a square format outlined the background as the annoying tone of the default iPhone ringer went through my ears at decibels greater than a plane taking off. Still, I preserved. Eventually I got to the point where you had to put in all of your personal information, a place where I had stopped at most of the time. However this time I just decided to put in all of David Baszucki's public information.

At least he'll know it was for a good cause.
Even after I had put in "my" personal information for the NSA to spy on me and give me boatloads of ads, the surveys continued. There was some for health insurance, car insurance, and dental insurance. No matter where I went, the surveys followed.

I had just about given up when all of a sudden one window named "Save As" popped up (then followed fifty more but that's besides the point). At first I thought it was trying to download some virus, but I realized -- it was the 3DS emulator and game.

At that point was when the virus had potential to hit. I checked the download -- the game was a standard, non-suspicious .nds file while the other was a slightly-suspicious .exe file.

After checking both with Security Essentials and AVG at least 30 times, I pondered the idea of opening up safe mode, but decided to go big and try doing it on default anyway. The only thing that popped up was this window.

Ruh roh.

This is it. This is where the virus was going to attack.

I'd seen "Missing .dll" windows before from such likes as audacity, but this one seemed to have a, thisistotallyavirusandifyouclickityouarefuckingretarded feel to it. Of course, I didn't click the "DOWNLOAD FOR VIRUS" button, but instead decided to try my luck in googling the .dll. Surely not more people could be playing along with this malware, right?

After googling and finding the NoDevice link, it had turned out that the data.dll was actually a Windows-made .dll file. This should mean that it already came with the computer, but nevertheless I decided to download it anyway.

After downloading the .dll, I decided to open up the emulator try and verify the .dll. So, what happens next? You'll find out the next time I update this post, either in 10 minutes or 2 years.

EDIT

Unfortunately, this was neither a virus nor a legitimate copy.

After trying to use the .dll I had downloaded, I noticed it didn't work. So instead I just went to go download the one it sent me to, which lead to a bunch of "$1 offers!!!!". So I decided to stop there.

Possible Halloween stream?

As most of you can tell I haven't streamed very recently due to lots of work and other stuff going on. While "Astuka's Week of Streams II" is confirmed to take place spring break (as it did last year) and likely WILL be a charity stream, I'm thinking of making a halloween special stream sometime during the weekend near halloween. We'll be watching scary videos, movies, playing scary games, etc. Anyone interested in this idea?

If enough people care, I'll start working things out. Maybe I should start a petition?

Alright folks, we're on a major slowdown until the games arrive or GTA online starts working, so this post is going to have to be major filler. Just think of it as a government shutdown, but for this blog.

75. If you take a sea sponge and put it in the blender, then leave it over night, the sea sponge will be back together as good as new.

74. If you took the entire solar system, then shrunk it down so that the sun is at your head and pluto at your feet, Uranus would be at... your anus.

ig.Astuka: like there's an 80s club and a dark rainy cave and a wine cellar
ig.Astuka: idk

Cool tetrahedral lights

"Designer Ed Chew takes a green step in the right direction with the TetraBox lamp, a light object made from discarded drink packets that would have otherwise ended up in landfills already packed to the brim. The design is achieved by unfolding the packets and refolding them into hexagonal and pentagonal sections that are then pieced together to form a geodesic sphere or any other desired shape. Here, the Epcot-like ball makes an attractive overhead light and casts an impressive web of shadows and shapes on the surrounding space."

TIL that a person can only pull out the Sword in the Stone at Fantasyland (Disney) when there is a light in a window nearby.

http://www.hiddenmickeys.org/disneyland/secrets/fantasy/general.html

"When standing inside the castle looking at the sword in the anvil with the carousel in the background, look up to the right and you'll see a little window with a green light in it. When the wizard comes out for his show look for the light to change red. When it does, the kid pulling on the sword with be the one to move it."

Even though I've only been to Disneyland once, I love checking out these Disneyland "secrets". This one I haven't heard of yet, so I'd thought it be good to post it.
